United States Army Air Forces Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP)
      - Country: USA
 - Branch: Army Air Forces Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP)
 - Rating: Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP)
 - Circa Awarded 1943: (8th Class: 48 pilots)
 - Collection Status: Wanted
 - Wing Notes: Class 43-8 received the first official lozenge (diamond) design wings. Unfortunately, the Josten wings didn’t arrive in time for graduation. These were made locally using an AMICO wing and soldered the diamond. Once an official design was established, the class graduation wings were no longer issued. All the WASP wings are extremely rare with a total 1074 women pilots. A number of variations of the graduation wings. I believe some of these wings were re-issued and replacements. The only official manufacturer of the lozenge wing was Josten with clutch back. The reunion wings was different with pin back. Be ware, many WASP wings are reproductions or fake, know your source.
