Memo: British Columbia pioneer avaitor Leonard Dobbin with his brother Edward CW Dobbin founded Dominion Airways Limited in 1927 with head offices in Vancouver & Nelson BC using Minoru Park (flight training school) and Nelson airstrip (forestry patrol). Aircraft were Jennies JN-4 and a Gypsy Moth 2 seater wooden float plane. In 1928 third brother Col Ted Dobbin with observer Percy Young were one of the first under contract in Nelson, British Columbia flying a Gypsy Moth to patrol for fires after lightning storms. In 1929 Dobbin, in partnership with Norman Alfred Yarrow of the Victoria Shipbuilding firm Yarrows Limited, founded the Yarrows Aircraft Corporation Limited which took over Dominion Airways circa 1927-1932. Both firms failed to survive the depression.
